Stay with fantastic hosts at our favourite locations

We have a number of accommodation providers located near the trail which we highly recommend. Listed in the order you’ll come across them on the trail, they each provide their own charm and character against the backdrop of the beautiful Remutaka countryside.

Wallaceville House

A lovely venue in Upper Hutt, suitable for both large and small groups. It’s just a stone’s throw from Brewtown, home to craft breweries & a distillery, all offering great food.

Incline Cottage

Located on The Remutaka Cycle Trail itself on the Kaitoke Loop Road, Incline Cottage is a great place to stay and sleeps 1-4 people. Spend the evenings relaxing on the deck overlooking the paddocks and hills beyond, enjoying the antics of the farm animals, or cosy up inside in winter by the wood-burning stove with snow-capped mountains in the distance.

The Royal Hotel

The Royal is a historic and beautifully renovated hotel in the heart of Featherston, making it the perfect spot for the second night out on the trail. Suitable for groups of all sizes, with an onsite restaurant (Brac & Bow), it is full of character and charm with it’s Colonial and Victorian architecture.

The White Swan

The perfect choice for those tours stopping in Greytown. Suitable for both large and small groups, each room has it’s own unique charm. With an on-site restaurant, and situated in the middle of the town, it’s a great location for exploring Greytown after a days ride.

The Martinborough Hotel

For those cycling further afield on one of our Martinborough excursions, The Martinborough Hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel full of charm and character located in the heart of the village. With an on-site restaurant and close proximity to world-class vineyards, this is truly the perfect place to relax and sit back with a glass of wine after a day out on the trail.

Prairie Holm Cabins

A Secluded Cabin nestled among five acres of regenerating native garden. Prairie Holm Farm is located along the edge of Lake Wairarapa and is perfect for groups of 1-4. Accommodation consists of a two bedroom cabin and an adjoining generous sized lounge/kitchen/bathroom cabin. Prairie Holm is a working Dairy, Sheep & Beef farm.

Te Rakau Cabins

One of our favourite stops, the converted railway cabins at Te Rakau are great for our smaller groups and couples. These quaint, rustic cabins are full of charm - and don’t forget to use the outside hot bath under the stars! Te Rakau makes for a great location at the end of day two - just 6km from Ocean Beach and the start of The Wild Coast.

Te Wheke Lakeside Villas

4 brand new 1 bedroom villas on the shores of Lake Ōnoke, right next to Lake Ferry Hotel. For larger groups, we use the hotel as well as the villas. Enjoy an evening meal at the restaurant as you watch the sunset over the South Island, the perfect end to a day’s ride!
